SG RECORD PROMOTER ELECTED DEMOCRATIC PARTY DELEGATE
RICK HENDRIX FOR CONGRESS IN 2010?
Music promoter Rick Hendrix was selected to represent the North Carolina Democratic Party, as a delegate to the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado, this fall.
Hendrix' election was revealed at the NC Democratic State Convention.. held Saturday at the New Bern Convention Center. Hendrix, who is a Hillary Clinton delegate, says he was asked to run for the seat by President Bill Clinton earlier this year. Hendrix won on the county level,.. was elected to be a delegate from his district.. then ran for the National seat.

Rick tells this reporter that his own political future is continuing to take shape. He says: "If after the convention in Denver.. Senator Clinton is not seated,.. I will step aside and prepare my own race for US Congress in the mid terms 2010. As a Democrat, I have strong beliefs against abortion, I am  an avid supporter of prayer in our schools, and I feel our borders need a fair, tough, enforceable and realistic plan."  Hendrix,.. who has maintaned a home in North Carolina for about the last five years, says he would run for state's 10th Congressional District seat.  The 10th district includes Morganton, Shelby and Hickory, North Carolina.

Hendrix, a longtime gospel record promoter.. presently works with the Gaither Vocal Band, The Freemans, Gold City, The Hoppers, Jason Crabb and dozens more.

SG GROUP DOWN-SIZING
In a newsletter to fans.. The Pathfinders report that they have decided to park their bus.. and have opted to save gas money by traveling in a van.  the Pathfinders say: "We have had a burden on our hearts for a while now regarding our transportation. We get about 6 miles to the gallon and with diesel fuel costing close to $5.00 a gallon we can't afford to drive our bus any longer.  This is tough for us, because it makes our traveling so much easier.  We've prayed about it and realize that God hasn't told us to stop singing but to keep going on for
Him.  To do this, we have had to down-size."

The group adds: "If you would like to buy a Eagle Bus that is in 'awesome' condition, please give us a call."
