SG CONCERT ..FALSE ADVERTISING?
Although an investigation is still underway.. SGReporter has learned that all is not as it seems.. with at least one gospel concert promotion. Our newsroom was contacted this week by a management representative of Dottie Rambo. It seems that advertisements for a July 4th and 5th event, in Gray Tennessee.. are listing Rambo as a featured artist. Dottie's manager.. Larry Ferguson says: "Dottie is not scheduled or contracted to be at
this event. Dottie will be in Kingsport in June but not with any affiliation to this event." Ferguson goes on to say the Heaven Bound Talent Agency, promoters of the Gray, TN singing, even have Dottie Rambo listed on their booking roster. Larry says: "Dottie Rambo is booked through the Beckie Simmons Agency ONLY! Whether this was done in error.. or any other reason, I am unsure. But,.. I would like to let the people know that Dottie and I are very happy with Beckie Simmons. She is not only a booking agent to us.. but also a friend."
Further investiagtion has revealed that other artists schedule to appear.. may also have been, unknowingly, added to the line-up. The advertising ad our reporter obtained shows eleven artists scheduled to appear.. including: Dottie Rambo, The Imperials, The Skyline Boys Qt, Living
Waters Trio, Called Out Qt, Charles Johnson & The Revivers, Heavenly Sunrise Qt, Wade Weaver (concert promoter) and The Bethels. Sources say at least two of these artists, in addition to Dottie Rambo,.. most likely will not appear on the concert. An anonymous email, received by this reporter.. indicates that some artists are considering legal action.
SGReporter has, so far,.. been unable to contact the event promoter. We welcome comments from Mr Weaver and any aritists involved in the Gray, Tennessee event.
