BMI CHRISTIAN MUSIC AWARDS PRESENTED
SOUTHERN GOSPEL FARES WELL
At the annual Christian Music Awards, in Nashville last week.. Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI) honored writers and publishers of the songs that radio and television played most in 2007.
In addition to naming producer and songwriter.. Ed Cash.. the 2008 Christian Songwriter of the Year, the performing rights organization presented awards spanning five categories:  Southern Gospel, Contemporary Christian, Inspirational, Urban Gospel and Christian Rock.

2008 SGMA HALL OF FAME
The Southern Gospel Music Association has announced the 2008 class of inductees to the Hall of Fame. SGMA Executive Director Charlie Waller told reporters: "The Class of 2008 is a prestigious and much deserving one."

Ray Dean Reese
 
The Annual SGMA Day will be held October 9th at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN. The park will be closed to the general public and it will be a day for gospel fans to enjoy plenty of food gospel singing and the induction ceremony and tribute concert. To reserve tickets call 865-908-4040.

According to news on Jeff & Sheri Easter's website..  Jayna Marie Ritchie, new born baby daughter of Greg and Charlotte Ritchie, arrived Friday, April 18th shortly before 7pm. Jayna weighed 6lbs, 11oz. and measured 19 inches long. Sheri says she has curly strawberry blond hair.
