SG INDUSTRY LEADER INVITED TO PRESIDENTIAL FORUM
Southern Gospel record promoter.. Rick Hendrix (the Rick Hendrix Company) attended the Compassion Forum at Mesiah College in Pennsylvania.. Sunday night. Presidential hopefuls
Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama were featured speakers at the event. Leaders and heads of all the major denominations were present during the questions and answers. Hendrix was invited by Presidential campaign representatives. Rick told reporters: "I was honored to be asked to attend. I am honored they asked me to participate and that my opinions within the gospel industry matter to the Presidency. I enjoyed being a part of such a value driven debate."
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton blasted her rival Barack Obama during the debate,.., accusing him of being "elitist" and "patronizing". She told attendees that Obama did not respect people who sought comfort in religion. In comments made at a fundraiser last week, Obama said that white, working class voters had turned away from Washington after years of economic decline and cast their votes on social
issues instead of economic ones. In a transcript published by The Huffington Post (www.huffingtonpost.com) Obama adds: "So it's not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
The Compassion Forum aired live on CNN, Pennsylvania will hold its 2008 presidential primaries on April 22nd.
