SHELIA HEIL SUFFERS ANOTHER FAMILY LOSS
"I have realized the greatest gift a parent can give their child is to die peacefully so there is absolutely no doubt that everyone knows where they have gone. Within the past two months, my parents gave me that gift."
Less than two months ago.. we reported on the death of Beulah Troyer. The 88 year old mother of Shelia Heil (Gospel Greats/Springside Marketing) passed away after a lengthy illness. Now the Heils (Paul & Shelia) again are mourning the loss of a family member. Shelia's father,.. Levi Troyer, died Wednesday night (5/27/09) in Fairview, Michigan. He had been under hospice care for three days. Mr Troyer was 87.
Shelia told our reporter: "Dad's faithfulness is shown in the promise he made to my mother to be there for her as long as she needed him. She died April 6 and dad visited the grave site for the first time this past Saturday. That really triggered his longing to join Mom and Jesus, his Lord and Savior. He was just tired. The doctors did heart bypass surgery back in 1975 and told him it was unsuccessful. They gave him five years to live. He outlived that five years by 29 extra years. He's fought through heart attacks and strokes for years, he deserves his rest and it came peacefully on May 27."
Levi Troyer was the oldest of nine children and a hard-working man. He loved his family and had a concern for souls. He was a custodial supervisor at the local school for many years. In later years, he pastored a small rural church,.. until he could no longer handle the responsibility because of age. Mr. Troyer is survived by his three daughters and two sons and numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah, on April 6, 2009. Plans are for funeral services to be held at the Fairview Mennonite Church, Fairview, Michigan.
