According to a SGMA press release.. the Southern Gospel Music
industry will
come together to honor its legends Wednesday, Oct. 7th at Dollywood in
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. SGMA executive director Charlie Waller tells
reporters that the Tribute Concert, set for 10am till noon,.. will
feature the Dixie Echoes, the Dove Brothers and Triumphant
Quartet. The official induction ceremony gets underway at 3:45pm.
Performers appearing include the Booth Brothers, the Chuck Wagon Gang,
Dailey
& Vincent, the Dixie Echoes, the Dove Brothers, the Gospel Harmony
Boys,
Greater Vision, and the Mark Trammell Trio. The 2009 Hall Of Fame
inductees are: Neil Enloe, Ed Hill, Harold Lane, Don Light, Bill
Lyles, Elizabeth "Lady" Mull, Billy Todd and Charlie Waller.
This years events will be held in the Pines Theater inside Dollywood. Waller says only 900 tickets will be available and.. "Once they're sold.. that's it." Tickets include admission to Dollywood, free parking, lunch, the
induction ceremony and the tribute concert. Unlike years past.. the theme park will remain open to the general public and all shows, rides and shops will be operating. Charlie adds that SGMA Day, sponsored by the Southern Gospel Music Association,
features a fun-filled day of concerts, dinner and the induction of the
2009 Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame's newest members.. as well as an
opportunity to enjoy all the rides and
other activities at Dollywood.
