ISAACS' JOHN BOWMAN.. PICKIN WITH JD CROWE
A feature at the Isaacs website, by writer Lisa Hildreth, says in 2006 John Bowman left "life on the road" with The Isaacs and stepped into a much different role as an educator. John and Becky's (Rebecca Isaacs Bowman) children attend the school where he teaches.
 
In the.. "Getting to Know Our Spouses"  feature, Bowman reveals that he is still playing music. He says: "I heard that my banjo hero, JD Crowe, was looking for a bass player and a singer. Knowing that JD only plays about 40 or 50 dates per year, I figured I try out. JD was gracious enough to hire me. They are all a great bunch of guys and I'm privileged to get to pick with them."  JD Crowe and New South tour the country playing Bluegrass festivals and the Grand Ole Opry on occasion.
 
Bowman says that he is still working at the Christian school in Lafollette, TN.  He adds: "It is amazing how God has blessed our little school. We are up to 138 students now. 5 years ago, we were running in the low 90's. God has helped us to pay off debt that the school had owed for years and we will be getting a brand new sound system in the near future. Just today, one of my students gave her heart to Jesus. That's 100% saved. God did it!!!"
