GMA & GOSPEL MUSIC CHANNEL SIGN TV DEAL
Thursday (02/14) was a big news day for the Gospel Music Association. Nominees for the 39th Annual Dove Awards were announced at a press conference in Nashville,.. and the Gospel Music Channel, an all-gospel/Christian music television network, has entered into a a multi-year agreement to become the exclusive television home for the GMA Dove Awards.
Thursday (02/14) was a big news day for the Gospel Music Association. Nominees for the 39th Annual Dove Awards were announced at a press conference in Nashville,.. and the Gospel Music Channel, an all-gospel/Christian music television network, has entered into a a multi-year agreement to become the exclusive television home for the GMA Dove Awards.
The Dove Awards program will be seen live, across the country, on GMC beginning with this years event on Wednesday, April 23 at 8pm (ET). The Dove Awards have aired in national syndication, but have not been broadcast live since 2002.
The Dove Awards will be handed out in 43 categories. The Songwriter of the Year nominees were not announced this week, but will be revealed prior to the ceremony. Dove Awards nominations go to recordings released during the eligibility year November 1, 2006 through October 31, 2007 and are voted on by the members of the GMA.
