MICHAEL ENGLISH SINGLE SHIPS TO SG RADIO
The long awaited new CD from Michael English is expected to release later this month. (Feb 26) In a press announcement today.. Rick Hendrix tells reporters that his company has reached an agreement with English and Curb Records to
promote a single, from Michael's "The Prodigal Comes Home" project. The cut,.. "Feels Like Redemption" will go to Southern Gospel radio soon.. with a target add date of February 19th. Hendrix said: "I am excited to be a part of such a great ministry and career that has stood the test and prevailed."
In 1994, just a week after receiving four Dove Awards, including Artist of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year, English was dropped by his record label when he confessed to having had an extramarital affair. Michael returned his Dove Awards to the GMA and left The Gaither Vocal Band.
In August of 1996, southern gospel audiences reaccepted English after Charlie Waller reunited
English with Ed Hill, Rick Strickland, Dwayne Burke, and Milton Smith as the Singing Americans at the Grand Ole Gospel Reunion. Later that year J.D. Sumner invited an unsuspecting English to join him on stage, at the National Quartet Convention, and asked him to forgive people's "judging hearts". An emotional English shared his testimony and immediately followed with a powerful rendition of "I Bowed on My Knees".
In March of 2000,.. Michael English recorded a new album, Heaven to Earth. He premiered the project on TBN’s Praise the Lord, Michael gave a powerful testimony of what God had brought him through and shared with the tv audience.. about his addiction to painkillers, subsequent treatment and rehab.
