CALIFORNIA HERE WE COME!
Karen Peck & New River boarded a flight out of Atlanta yesterday afternoon.. destination: Los Angeles. The group is heading west to attend the 2008 Grammy Awards, Sunday (2/10) at the Staples Center.
 
KP&NR earned a Grammy nomination in the Best Southern, Country, Or Bluegrass Gospel Album category for their Journey Of Joy album on Daywind Records. Other projects nominated in the category include works by Bill & Gloria Gaither And The Homecoming Friends, Billy Joe Shaver, Ricky Skaggs & The Whites, Kenny & Amanda Smith Band, and a Country Gospel project by various artists.
 
Karen says: "It's been a while since (to California) I have been so excited about a trip. My last trip with the Nelons, back in November of 1990, was a trip to California.  New River has never been there.  I hope doors will open to do a west coast tour in the near future." Karen adds that they will be touring L.A. Friday,.. then attending a reception for Grammy nominees Saturday night.
 
The Grammy Awards will be broadcast live on CBS Sunday at 8:00pm (EST)
