DON WATKINS DEAD AT AGE 66
Family members report that Donald H. “Don” Watkins,.. patriarch of the The Watkins Family of Eastanollee, Ga., died Saturday night (01/26/08) after suffering a heart attack during a performance at the True Gospel Community Church in Dobson, N.C.
Family members report that Donald H. “Don” Watkins,.. patriarch of the The Watkins Family of Eastanollee, Ga., died Saturday night (01/26/08) after suffering a heart attack during a performance at the True Gospel Community Church in Dobson, N.C.
Watkins, a guitarist, and his wife Judy began performing in the late 1970s. They led the gospel-bluegrass family group,
which includes their son Todd and daughters, Lorie and Shanon, since 1982,.. touring across the United States and Canada. The family appeared at the National Quartet Convention last September.
