FIRE HITS SG ARTIST'S HOME - DOG SAVES FAMILY
A weekend fire destroyed the Lake City, Florida home of Mercy Mountain Boys member.. Earl Green. Reports say Green has his dog to thank for his life. Earl said his dog started barking and scratching at the bedroom door Saturday morning. He thought the pet wanted out, but instead.. the dog was trying to let he and his wife know that the house was on fire. Green said the German Shepherd alerted him,.. even before smoke detectors sounded. Firefighters say an electrical fire apparently started in the back of the residence and spread through the attic.
Officials say the home's interior is a total loss after suffering extensive smoke and water damage. Earl was treated and released, for smoke inhalation, at a nearby hospital. The family was able to save some pictures and a few valuable items.
